My Journey
In The Year 1993
I was born in a lower middle class joint family in Bawana, a small District in New Delhi. Both my parents were into full time jobs.
In The Year 1993
Then in the years 1994 to 2004
To keep up with the growing expenses of my parents having me, my father quit his job and started a business. Initially it did really well, but eventually things didn't work out the way he planned. As a result, the business started crumbling, leading to huge financial turmoils and debt.
Then in the years 1994 to 2004
Then in the years 2004 to 2007
Due to the financial troubles, it was a challenge for my family to afford my education. It became a monthly routine for me to be called out by my school authorities for not being able to pay the school fee. This reached a point that I started faking my identity and getting totally under confident. I used to compare myself to the 'richer' kids who had everything I didn't. I ended up growing into a spoiled young boy who used to fight, disrespect and hardly give a sh!t.
Then in the years 2004 to 2007
Then in the years 2007 to 2011
Because of seeing constant financial troubles I was always taught and trained to get into a stable well paying job. And like any other middle class Indian family, the only solution we saw, was studying really hard and getting into a great engineering college. And that's exactly what I set my eyes onto. I wanted to change things for us, so I completely engulfed myself into studies. Because studying hard would have got me into a good college and a good college would be got me a good placement. My parents signed me up in a coaching institute where I found my first mentor. I went from almost failing in 2007 to topping in 2011 and also managed to get into a decent engineering college in my own city, New Delhi.
Then in the years 2007 to 2011
Then in the years 2011 to 2015
Within 12 months of getting into engineering I realised it wasn't my cup of tea. I couldn't see myself building programs or coding all day. The 'Engineering Dream' I had seen for years for falling apart and I was worried. I was worried for the future of my family and of course, myself. That's when a college senior made an announcement about an internship that they were hiring for.
Then in the years 2011 to 2015
Also in the years 2011 to 2015
I appeared for the interview, cracked it and started working for the company. Before getting graduated, I had interned with over 20+ companies like OLX, Channel V, LetsIntern, WeChat, Viber, Star Sports and in the process I fell in love with marketing, management, social media and sales. This was also the time I sold travel packages, did network marketing, sold clothing items and gave home tuitions to make money.
Also in the years 2011 to 2015
Also in the years 2011 to 2015
Everything's was going great but making money by working with companies physically didn't seem to make me grow. I wanted something I could make a lot more money from. This resulted in the good old Google Search - 'How to make money online' which led to learn about blogging. I started my first blog howtoruleonline.com, then another then another. Tried SEO, Affiliate Marketing and of course Blogging for the next 3 years, but didn't make a single penny. I was almost graduated when I met someone online who was making money from Amazon Kindle Books, we met and I didn't realise that my life was about to change.
Also in the years 2011 to 2015
Year 2015
It was July 2015, when I, my college buddy, the guy I had met online and his friend started a company together. We saw a win-win because we complimented each other's skills. We hired a team, self-invested whatever money we had, tried affiliate marketing, product launches, content writing, web development, graphic design, book publishing and what not. Result? We went bankrupt in 1.5 years and had to take 2 loans. That's when we also decided to split as partners because we thought we'd do better that way. We're great friends and my college buddy and I are still business partners.
Year 2015
October 2016
After having 2 loans on our head, we had to figure out a way to make things work. That's when I stumbled upon [Fiverr.com] and saw people selling animation videos for $100 each. I was intrigued. After researching for hours I learned about the platforms that could be used to make animation videos, signed up for one of them, learned how to create videos and started offering a video animation service as a freelancer. We named our animation video start-up Blisstro Videos. We took Blisstro Videos to $10k/mon in a few months. Blisstro Videos is currently managed by my better half.
October 2016
April 2017
I realised that animation videos weren't something I had my heart into. I wanted to work on something which I could scale to the moon without having to deal with service based clients. That's when I saw a post on FB from someone who was killing it with eCommerce. After having a conversation with him, I found his mentor, reached out to him and asked him to coach me. His coaching fee was $10,000. We had $12k in our bank account back then. We paid $10k to my mentor and kept $2k to run ads. Within the first 30 days, we had already launched and tested a 100 products without any success. We started selling T-Shirts after 30 days on my mentor's recommendation. What happened next was life changing!
April 2017
May 2017
We started selling T-Shirts using FB ads on the recommendation of my mentor. Within 30 days, we crossed 6-figures (USD) in sales. Within a year, we had crossed 7-figures in sales. We were on top of the world.
May 2017
October 2018
This was the time we started our eCom Education brand - Digital Dukaandaar to help people start, grow and scale their T-Shirt businesses.
October 2018
Present

Success is simply a combination of small little things done on a daily basis with consistency. You don't need to complicate it. Just keep it simple and continue doing what it takes, EVERY SINGLE DAY. It's just a matter of time you'll get there

You must have heard this phrase time and again. Let’s understand what it means. We all go through life but our actions predominantly determine its quality. Always remember that if you’re doing the same set of things or making the same amount of money or you’re solving the same set of problems, as you were a year ago, then that’s a problem.
